Congratulations to Ms. Lorenna Garcia-Bochas on presenting her research as an informative poster entitled "Physician Knowledge, Attitudes, and Perceptions of Antibiograms: A Pre-Implementation Study in Southern Sri Lanka" at the ASTMH Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA.
Ms. Garcia-Bochas, a DGHI MSc student, conducted a qualitative study focusing on physician knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of antibiograms at Teaching Hospital Karapitiya (THK) in Galle, Sri Lanka, under the Duke-Ruhuna Collaborative Research Center. These findings can help with future implementation of antibiograms, which are important tools that clinicians can use to guide their antibiotic prescriptions, at THK and other hospitals in Sri Lanka.
The abstract, published in the conference proceedings, was co-authored by Sherine Nanayakkara, Perla Medrano, Ajith Nagahawatte, C. Lakmal Fonseka, Armstrong Obale, MRP Kurukulasooriya, Madureka Premamali, Ganga Moorthy, Lana Abusalem, Melissa Watt, Chris Woods, Truls Ostbye, Champika Bodinyaka, and Gayani Tillekeratne.
Congratulations to all the authors on this significant accomplishment! We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the entire team for their invaluable contributions to this achievement.
