Prof Ashley St John and Mr. Sidharth Malhotra from the Duke-NUS Medical School visited the RDCID to wrap up some of the testing for the collaborative study “Determination of biomarkers of disease severity in COVID-19 patients and rates of dengue false-positive diagnosis”

During Prof. Ashley’s two days of visit to Sri Lanka, she delivered a guest lecture on Host-Targeted Therapeutics And Biomarkers For Dengue on 24th April 2024 at the Galle Medical Association Auditorium.

She met with Prof. A. Nagahawatte, Dr. M. R. P. Kurukulasooriya, Mr. U.H.B.Y. Dilshan and Ms. J. Gamage to introduce Mr. Sidharth Malhotra to the staff he was planning on working with for the next three weeks of his stay and discussed the testing plan with them.

Mr. Sidharth Malhotra worked closely with the staff members to facilitate the testing required for the study. He dedicated his time in imparting valuable expertise in ELISA techniques, ensuring the team was equipped with the necessary skills to execute the tasks well, for which he received heartfelt appreciation from the staff.

We hope it was a fruitful experience for Mr. Malhotra as well, as it was for the laboratory staff of the Duke Ruhuna Collaborative Research Centre.
