2019:

Prof. Champika Bodinayake , Prof. A. De S. Nagahawatte and Dr. Ruvini Kurukulasooriya were awarded with the President’s awards for the manuscript titled “Use of algorithms and rapid influenza testing to manage influenza – like illness: a cost-effectiveness analysis in Sri Lanka”. This was published by the BMJ Global Health in the year 2019. The authors for this publication were Prof. L. Gayani Tillekeratne, Prof. C. K. Bodinayake, Prof. A. De S. Nagahawatte, Dr. M.R.P. Kurukulasooriya, Prof. L. A. Orlando, Mr. R. A. Simmons, Prof. L. P. Park, Prof. C. W. Woods and Prof. S. D. Reeds.

2018:

Prof. Champica K. Bodinayake, Prof. Ajith Nagahawatte, Prof. Vasantha Devasiri, Dr. Wasantha Kodikara Arachchi (extended faculty) and Ms.Ruvini Kurukulasooriya were awarded for a Scientific Publication of the year 2018 (Evaluation of the WHO 2009 classification for diagnosis of acute in a large cohort of adults and children in Sri Lanka during a dengue – 1 epidemic).

2017:

Prof. Ajith Nagahawatte, Dr. C K Bodinayake, Dr. Vasantha Devasiri, Dr. W Kodikara Araarachchi (extended faculty), Dr. D Vidanagama (extended faculty) and Ms. Ruvini Kurukulasooriya were awarded for a Scientific Publication of the year 2017 (Burden and Seasonality of Viral Acute Respiratory Tract Infections Among Outpatients in Southern Sri Lanka).

2016:

Prof. Ajith Nagahawatte, Dr. C K Bodinayake, Dr. Vasantha Devasiri, Dr. W Kodikara Araarachchi (extended faculty), Dr. D Vidanagama (extended faculty) and Ms. Ruvini Kurukulasooriya were awarded for a Scientific Publication for the year 2016 (Emergence of Epidemic Dengue-1 Virus in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka).

2015:

Prof. Ajith Nagahawatte, Dr. C K Bodinayake, Dr. Vasantha Devasiri, Dr. W Kodikara Araarachchi (extended faculty), Dr. D Vidanagama (extended faculty) and Ms. Ruvini Kurukulasooriya were awarded for a Scientific Publication of the year 2015 (“An Under-Recognized Influenza Epidemic Identified by Rapid Influenza Testing, Southern Sri Lanka, 2013” and “Use of Rapid Influenza Testing to Reduce Antibiotic Prescriptions Among Outpatients with Influenza-Like Illness in Southern Sri Lanka)”.

2014:

Presidential Awards; P. Vijitha De Silva awarded the Presidential Awards for Scientific Publications for the Years 2013 & 2014 in Sri Lanka during the presidential award in 2015.

2013:

Dr. C K Bodinayake, Dr. Ajith Nagahawatte, Dr. Vasantha Devasiri and Dr. W Kodikara Arachchi have been awarded Presidential Awards for Scientific Publications for the Years 2011 and 2012 (“Unsuspected Rickettsioses among Patients with Acute Febrile lllness in Sri Lanka 2007”, “Leptospirosis as Frequent Cause of Acute Febrile lllness in Southern Sri Lanka” and “Unsuspected Dengue and Acute Febrile lllness in Rural and Semi Urban Southern in Sri Lanka”).
