Dr. M Ruvini P Kurukulasooriya; a Science Graduate holding a BSc honors degree in Agriculture from the faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna with a MSc in Agricultural Biology from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, registered for a MPhil degree in June 2016 at the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Ruhuna, Matara, Sri Lanka and converted the MPhil to a PhD degree (A One Health approach: the epidemiology of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from humans, animals and animal products in southern Sri Lanka) in 2019 as the first PhD candidate who works under the Duke-Ruhuna collaboration from Ruhuna side under the supervisor of Prof. Ajith Nagahawatte (Ruhuna), Prof. Gayani Tillekeratne (Duke), Prof. Gaya Wijayaratne (Ruhuna), Prof. CK Bodinayake (Ruhuna), Prof. Chris Woods (Duke), Prof. Truls Ostbye (Duke) and Dr. A Dharshan De Silva (KDU). Dr. Kurukulasooriya successfully completed her PhD in Molecular Microbiology at the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in November 2023.
