Janae Logan, a DGHI MSc student Joined the 3rd Twinning program on “Knowledge and attitude of health care works on non-invasive pre-natal testing for congenital anomalies” study from May to August 2015 under the supervision of Dr. Vijitha De Silva, Prof. Truls Ostbye and Subhashini Chandrasekharan. Her Sri Lankan counterpart is Dr. PAA Chandrasiri (MD Community Medicine trainee). Data analysis, publications, and thesis writing are still to be completed.
Kayla Marie Stankevitz, a DGHI MSc student Joined the 2nd Twinning program on “Health and Musculoskeletal Disorders in Sri Lankan Rubber Tappers” study from August to December 2014 under the supervision of Dr. Vijitha De Silva and Prof. Truls Ostbye and successfully completed her thesis defense. Her Sri Lankan counterpart, A V Hemajith Tharindra (Social works instructor, Department of Community Medicine) visited DGHI to join in the data analysis of the same research in January 2015. His thesis is yet to be completed.
Mirna Hodzdic Mun, a Duke MSc student commenced the 1st twinning Program with her Sri Lankan counterpart Janithra De Silva (Lecturer, Dpt of Community Medicine) in June 2013 on a study titled “Exploring the Health of Female Foreign Domestic Worker Returnees from the Middle East” under the supervision of Dr. Vijitha De Silva, Prof. Truls Ostbye and Prof. Justine Strand and successfully completed her thesis defense. Mirna also supported the SLHMS study by developing a "generativity scale".
